Get better at chess by learning from your own games.
Chess Sensei opens to everyone soon. Sign-ups aren't open yet.
Chess Sensei reviews your games by what you were thinking, turns your mistakes into puzzles, teaches you openings and endgames, and keeps track of everything you've learned.
How it works
Bring your games. Link your chess.com or Lichess account and new games come in by themselves, or paste any PGN.
Review them by your thinking. Before the engine's verdict on a move, write down your plan and the line you expected. Then see where your thinking and the position agreed, and where they didn't.
Fix your mistakes. Every position where you went wrong becomes a puzzle. Misses come back until you've got them.
Build your openings and endings. Learn opening lines from real games, save them to your repertoire and quiz yourself; drill the endgames every player needs.
What you get
My Notebook
A guided review of each game. Your notes understand chess (moves and squares light up on the board), and every reveal shows a verdict from Best to Blunder, the engine's top moves and why in plain English.
My Mistakes
Puzzles made from your own games, not strangers'. Filter by blunders, mistakes or misses and by your rating, take a hint when stuck, and let spaced repetition bring back what you missed.
Openings Catalog
Courses on the classic openings, built from millions of real games and Stockfish. Choose how many lines and how deep; every line is marked as a mainline, variation or sideline.
My Repertoire
The lines you learn, saved by opening. Quiz yourself, review what's due, and build your own lines move by move with what opponents really play.
Endgame Catalog
Short lessons, then drills against Stockfish: king and queen, king and rook, two bishops, pawn endings and the bishop-and-knight mate, each checked against perfect play.
Progress you can see
Earn XP for every puzzle solved, line learned and drill won, and level up as you go. Everything syncs to your account on every device.
Analysis uses Stockfish 19, the strongest open-source chess engine. It runs in your browser, so your games are analyzed on your own device. Free, with no ads and no tracking.

The checkmates and pawn endings every player needs. Learn the technique step by step, then play it out against Stockfish, which defends as long as it can.
Your move
Play the move you'd make in this position: drag a piece, or tap it and then a dot.
Then you'll write down your plan, and see the engine's verdict after that, as with any game.
